#AuguatWritingChallenge - Green - Day 10

Today's theme reminds me of the environment. We live in a world where global warming may be threatening the future of the Earth. The polar ice caps are melting. Species are becoming extinct. Carbon emissions continue to rise. It is really saddening that with modern technology comes the cost of greater pollution.

There is some controversy of the actual cause of global warming. Be that as it may, the phenomenon is happening and there is a way the people can cease or at least slow the process.

On of my many goals is to decrease my carbon footprint. Both of my jobs have recycling bins. I work at Forbes Washington Bureau; we have subscriptions to just about every newspaper and magazine in the area. It is my responsibility to sort and dispose of them. I always make sure to recycle them. However, my home efforts leave much to be desired. When I moved, there was so much stuff, old magazines, class notes, that could have been recycled but I got lazy and just tossed them all.

My new place has recycling too. I’m determined to sort out as much as I can. I also commute two days a week and on the weekends too. It’s small but I feel like if everyone starts small and huge difference can be made.
