#AugustWritingChallenge - Loyalty - Day 11

I think the value of loyalty has been placed on the back burner by my generation. I think we under estimate how much it helps in the establishment and maintenance of relationships. I would like to consider myself a loyal person. It's just the way I am. Once I've decided that someone is my friend, I will go to the end of the Earth for that person. 

Sometimes I wonder though, if maybe may definition of loyalty is different than others'. I believe that in order to be loyal to someone you have to stick up for them and protect them. You also have to be there for them when they need you and not leave them hanging. 

Recently I've been feeling like my friends haven't been doing that. No, this is not the "woe is me"  post, before  I start to loose y'al. I think the best way to correct this is to simply increase my own loyalty and lead by example. Maybe I have been slipping on my own friend duties. I think that might be the step to recovery.
