Let me start by just saying this whole transition from college kid to real adult has me thinking and in my feelings far too often.
Now, when I was a child I loved swimming. This was back before Michael Phelps made it cool. All year round I was at the neighborhood YMCA taking lessons and I was good too and fast. I took those lessons until I was maybe 12. As I got older I got sucked into my studies and didn't have as much free time for swimming.
All though high school I begged my father to enroll me in a class. I wanted to join my schools swim team and I needed to get back in shape. Well, that never happened. I'm still quite bitter. God ain't through with me yet. Anyway, I still ended up joining the team but I was that teammate that the just let swim so I would have something to do. I never won nor did I expect to but it was nice to a part of something.
Anyway, all through college I rarely ever swam but seeing Team America kick tail in London has me inspired again. So, my goal for the rest of 2012 is to renew my love of swimming. I know summer is almost over but used to the cold. Not to mention that it would good be great to regularly exercise.
So I'm committed to renew my love of swimming.
