Top 10 Children's Cartoons

Recently many people on Facebook were changes their profile pictures to cartoon characters. It started as a way to spread child violence awareness but I think it became a cute form a nostalgia for most of us. It promoted me to compile a list of what I think are the ten best children's cartoons, TV shows that it, not movies.

In no particular order:

10. Recess: TJ, Spinelli, Vince, Gretchen, Gus, and Mickey kept us all laughing for years. From their grumpy and unfair Asst. Principal Ms. Finster, their incompetent Principal Prickly, to the crazy and savage kindergartners, their lives were so much like ours and we loved them for it.

9. Rugrats: The smartest group of toddlers you'd ever seen. You never knew what those babies were going to get into as long as Tommy had that darn screwdriver.

8. The Pinky and The Brain: Oh Pinky and the Brain, classic "evil villain" who tried so hard to be evil but really wasn't.

7. Arthur: I'm a part of the generation the remembers when Arthur had a really, really, long nose that got lost on the trip from the book to the television. I remember when the show first premiered on PBS.

6. Tom and Jerry: I never quite figured out whether Tom and Jerry were friends or not but either way they were hilarious. My brother an sister are a decade younger than me and they watch Tom and Jerry every day like it's the best thing since sliced bread.

5.Captain Planet: This show raised a whole generation of environmentalists.

4.Powerpuff Girls: Sugar, spice, everything nice, and ingredient X! Even though they were super heroes these Buttercup, Blossom, and Bubbles had the same problems as every five year old.

3.The Magic School Bus: I was so jealous of the kids on this show. I wished that one day I would get a teacher like Ms. Frizzle. Unfortunately, that never happened. And so I became a journalist.

2.Pokemon: Show, video games, cards... Pokemon was not just a toy. It was a movement, a lifestyle. I myself had a brother who was obsessed with them. My question was always. "how can you catch them all when they keep creating news ones every fifteen days?"

1. Scooby Doo!: Those meddling kids and that dumb dog? LOL I personally think Scooby Doo is the best cartoon ever made. I still love it and have purchased seasons of it on DVD. or my twentieth birthday my brother and sister bought me a plush Scooby Doo and I love him!

This is just my ode to an older time, when good wholesome television existed. I think that this new generation is at a real disadvantage that everyone they watch on TV is my age.
