Such a controversial concept.
I personally think that the world will never fully rid themselves of stereotypes for two reasons:
1. They are generally rooted in the truth. For every stereotype there is a small population that actually behaves or looks they way a stereotype would assume. I have met and seen plenty of angry Black men, lazy Black men, and unruly and unkempt Black children in my day. I have also met and seen plenty of lovely, graceful, loving Black women who couldn't roll their neck if they tried. Both my father and step- father are hard- working men that provide for their children. And I and my siblings were always well- dressed as children.
2. From what I have observed, everyone is OK with stereotypes until they are subject to one. I myself even feel this way. All my friends hate Tyler Perry and the Popeye's commercial lady but we're all good with The Simpsons.
The only way to get rid of them is them fight them all... consistently.
